Green Water

Jesus tells us to come all who are weary and heavy laden. He doesn’t tell us to come all pretty, wrapped in a bow. He doesn’t care if we have it all together. It’s a stark contradiction to our society who’s become consumed with image. Where our lives have become filtered views of reality.

In my own life I’ve constantly strived for perfection, but God’s been showing me I don’t have to be perfect. I don’t need to put on a façade for the world. I’m fearfully and wonderfully made, and I can show up just as I am with my imperfections and messiness.

In this honesty to myself and my world I’m discovering there are so many other people who have “messy” too. When we put down our filters there’s a little bit of brokenness in us all. But there is so much freedom in this reality, because now I know I’m not alone, and neither are you. It’s ok to be flawed, it’s ok to struggle, because in our imperfections God’s light and beauty shine through.
